We had a great time with Cathy and Kyle. They allowed several hours just to shoot pictures and video around St. Louis and we took advantage of it. I had some fun with this one. We love when couples dare to be different and really make their wedding day theirs.  Hope and Brett were one of those couples.  Their wedding was held outside the home of Hope's grandmother in Highland.  The gazebo and all of the guest tables were nestled in a clearing of trees, making it hard to remember that we were still right in town. In honor of the couple's last name, cherries were everywhere! They adorned the wedding programs (that cleverly doubled as fans), they topped the wedding cake, and they were incorporated into the beautiful floral arrangments (which were all made by the Hope's aunt, Lisa Trout). Another adorable touch was the antique stroller that carried the bride's baby niece down the aisle as she was pushed by one of the flower girls.


After the first kiss, the crowd showered Hope and Brett with confetti and streamers in celebration. After a few portraits and dinner, it was time to party.  The bridal party dance "snowballed" and got almost everyone dancing. Hope's grandmother danced up a storm and even Brett's great-grandmother boogied with the boys!  And then the day ended with everyone lined up with sparklers to send the couple off on their way to their new lives together as husband and wife.

So who likes getting their picture taken when its over 100 degrees outside? Apparently these two do. Or at least they are very good at hiding it. It was HOT. But they endured the heat and managed to still look great too. We did the engagment photos at the Gardens at SIUE, and we really enjoyed getting to know them a bit better. Erika and Zach have such a genuine love for each other and an excitement for what their lives together will bring. We are looking forward to their wedding next year on March 24th!

Julie and Matt: Two Families United

Julie and Matt chose to exchange vows at the Conservatory in old historic St. Charles.  It was a day centered around family and close friends. Julie was attended by her daughter, Chelsea, and Matt's daughter, Kristin. Chelsea and Kristin walked down the aisle hand-in-hand as new sisters. Matt's son, John, stood up as the best man. And Kip, Julie's son, had the responsibility of giving her away, and also serving as Matt's other groomsman.
